Item Description
A sleek mid-century rosewood and aluminium ‘Shaker’ dining/writing table designed by Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) for Fritz Hansen. Labelled. Circa 1960-70.
Polished profiled cast aluminium base, with the top veneered in figured book match Brazilian rosewood. A rarely seen design from Arne Jacobsen.
The top has been sympathetically re-finished in an aqua coat, giving it more durability, water resistance and a smooth finish, but still retaining a few light authentic marks to highlight its genuine heritage. One small indentation to the edge and a few light indentation marks to the top to note. Please refer to the photographs. There are a few light marks to the aluminium, and some light scratch marks as shown in the photographs.
One of Denmark's most respected architects, Arne Jacobsen has become synonymous with Modernism internationally. This model was originally designed for Jacobsen’s total interior scheme at the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen.
FH3605 model. Originally designed in the mid-1950s, it was incorporated into the SAS Royal Hotel interiors when the building opened in 1960.
Would also work superbly as a desk.
