Item Description

Striking Abstract Impressionist bronze head by Wolf Bröll (1950-2016) part polished, with dark brown rough textured areas. Artist monogram WB and number 1/12. Dated 1993.

The bronze depicts a head, yet it avoids literal detail, having a tactile, rock like unfinished band and shoulders. A thought-provoking piece, it commands attention.

The bronze shows minimal signs of use with some light traces of oxidation.

Provenance: Corporate collection Lower Saxony.

German sculptor Wolf Bröll focused on sculptural forms and artistic expression. Bröll’s work has captivated audiences and critics alike. While primarily exhibited in Germany, Bröll’s impact extends beyond borders, resonating with art enthusiasts globally.

Embracing creativity and pushing boundaries, Bröll's dedication to the craft, and unwavering commitment to artistic exploration have solidified his position as a visionary in the contemporary art scene. He was a lover of fragments, his aim to stimulate the viewer's imagination with fragmentary works. The typical feature of Wolf Bröll's sculptures is their seemingly unfinished nature.

Works by the sculptor Wolf Bröll have been on display in numerous exhibitions and sculpture symposiums, including in Brandenburg, Berlin, Furtwangen, Göttingen and Cuxhaven. There are currently 39 sculptures in public spaces alone.
