Item Description
A good early 20th century large bentwood coat stand. Circa 1900.
Standing on four large down-swept legs, each with a scroll enclosing a circle radius to hold sticks and umbrellas. The coat stand rises on a cluster column with eight s-shaped coat hooks and scrolls for hats, surmounted by a turned finial.
Organic in form with Art Nouveau influence. The stand is very sturdy and in very good condition, showing some light marks with use. There are a couple of natural openings to the bentwood, as shown to the hat scroll. These are very secure. We cannot find a maker's stamp to the stand.
