Item Description
A superb pair of Art Deco figured walnut matching bedside cabinets. Circa 1930s.
In excellent condition, the cabinets have been re-finished by hand in a shellac sealer. They have a smooth waxed finish, but still retain a few light authentic marks to highlight their genuine heritage. To note: there is a horizontal line to one, visible across one side. This is where the cabinet would sit alongside a bed, so may not be noticeable when in situ. The cabinets have a wonderful rich golden colour to them.
Veneered in highly figured hand‑book matched walnut, the grain running in precise continuity across both cabinets.
The cupboard doors and drawers all work very well. The doors have ball catches to close. The interiors are lined in oak and there is a shelf to each. The interior spaces are clean and show very light marks.
The interior cupboard spaces are 35cm wide x 30cm deep. There is 20cm in height above and below the removable shelf. Each cabinet stamped 91 to the verso.
There is no damage or woodworm.
