Item Description
Pierre Decorse organic sculptural highly figured olive wood marble inset top side cabinet. French. Signed and dated. 2004.
The cabinet has a fabulous rounded, sculptural body which flows into a continuous slab base, raised on angled legs. To the right-hand side, a naturally occurring aperture emerges within a dense burl-like grain cluster — an expressive, organic feature that Decorse has intentionally preserved as part of the work’s character.
Hand carved from a single piece of highly figured olive wood, showing continuous grain and natural contours.
The door operates smoothly, there are some spotting marks to the front door as shown, these are not as noticeable as shown in the photographs.
The marble is fixed and sits flush with the top. The interior shelf is removable.
This unique piece exemplifies Decorse’s organic, material‑led approach, where form is discovered within the natural movement of the timber rather than imposed upon it.
Equally suited as a side cabinet or a sculptural bedside cabinet, the piece offers both functional storage and strong visual impact.
