Item Description

A bespoke made Art Deco revival London plane & ebony dressing table by Francesca Graham. British. Circa 1984.

The dressing table was exhibited in the Boiler House Project at the Victoria and Albert museum in 1984. Also featured in Woodworker Magazine, March 1985, and Daily Telegraph Newspaper.

There are 8 curved storage compartments and two drawers, all lined with lacquered marbled paper. The compartments each having a variation in depth. The mirror tilts. There are a few very light foxing marks to the edges of the plate glass.

The majority of this superbly crafted table is made in solid London plane, with the sides and two drawer fronts being veneered. Contrasting ebony edgings and handmade grip handles to the compartments and drawers.

Having the original patina, with a warm golden tone. There are some natural differences in colour, and light aged related wear, mainly to the front drawer, and the top of the smaller jewellery drawer, showing a few light water marks.

The ticket price for this beautiful one off piece was £2,900 in 1984. In today's money this would around £9,500.
