Item Description
Antique French archtop mirror, circa 1880, with gently, outcurving, gilt frame etched with an undulating leaf and stem design and with a simple flower mid-way along the shorter sides and at intervals along the long sides. A row of beading runs along the sight edge. Unusually for a French mirror, this one has a dark grey bole beneath the gilding and, where the gold leaf has thinned after more than 100 years of dusting, the design is enhanced making this mirror particularly attractive. The original glass is in very good condition with just a hint of age and gives an excellent reflection. This mirror can be placed in any room.
