Item Description
Antique French Louis-Philippe period archtop mirror (1830-48) with etched gilt frame, decorated with a criss-cross design and etched, fanned, acanthus leaves at each corner. A row of beading runs along the sight edge. After almost 200 years of dusting, the gilding has worn away leaving a very attractive chestnut red-brown and gilt patina. The original, mercury, mirror plate has a little age in the form of shading, but sparkles when it catches the light and gives a very good reflection.
