Item Description
Unusual, small, antique Venetian mirror, circa 1840, with a high decorative top, or "fronton", and little supporting feet. The main section of the mirror has a delicate, scallop-cut, edged frame, secured at each corner with a decorative square which has a cobalt blue centre cut with a star. The decorative top has little glass finials on each side and five, shaped, silvered pieces, cut with simplified flowers, stems and stars, surround a central oval of cobalt blue glass cut with a small central star surrounded by silver ovals. The central glass is bevelled and all the pieces of this mirror are original, mercury-backed, glass, in excellent condition with just a little wispy age, sparkling when they catch the light and giving a very good reflection.
