1960’s Dalescraft 6ft heavy teak bench style of Torbjorn Afdal
We go out of our way to buy these lovely stylish low benches which were made in this size and a shorter 4ft version . We’ve sold a few over the last 10 years . The first one we found had a great small chest of drawers that sat on the top , and another came with cushions . Unfortunately the small chests are even rarer the benches . This one came without any cushions , so our upholsterer has made a set of 3 in a lovely black wool fabric .
The edges and feet are solid teak , but the top is just veneered .
Dalescraft were a small up-market maker of furniture . In the 1960’s the owner/designer Malcolm David Walker often used Scandinavian designs as the basis for their pieces . This one is labelled , but not all are .
183cms long ( 6ft ) , 42cms wide , 34cms high .
Condition
Cleaned and oiled with no obvious marks or bad scratches . As with all vintage furniture you must expect to see some minor signs of wear after some 60 years .
