Item Description
Late 1960’s Danish teak small sideboard by Brande
Brande Mobelfabrik were a small Danish high end maker who were apparently founded in the early 1950’s by Harry Rosengren Hansen who designed a number of their pieces. They also used other famous Danish designers such as Kurt Ostervig and Hans Olsen. This piece has a Danish Furniture Control label as well as being stamped Brande Mobelfabrik and the name J Clausen. We’ve found a couple of these lovely sideboards described as being designed by J Clausen, but we think this may have been the then owner of the company rather than the designer. It’s also dated 1969, which will be not long before the company closed as one website says that it closed in the mid 1960’s !
Sideboards under 150cms are really hard to find today, as are nice models as low as this one. We liked the nice clean sleek lines as well as the well fitted interior.
Condition
Cleaned and oiled and looking really nice with no obvious marks or scratches. As with all vintage pieces you must expect to see some minor knocks and signs of wear if you look closely.
