Pair of 1960’s metal candelabra by Gunnar Ander for Ystad Metall
These lovely black metal candleholders usually come up singly, so it’s very unusual to find a pair for sale. The lovely copper rims to the holders give a lovely contrast with the black.
Gunnar Ander designed a number of candleholders in the late 1950’s and 1960’s for Ystad Metall of Sweden. We have 3 lovely brass ones with amethyst glass shades that were also his design.
We bought them together from a long standing Swedish contact, but the original felt undersides are different colours and one is more worn than the other.
28cms high 28cms wide
Condition
In good vintage condition with minor knocks to the black finish mainly on the one with green felt base and some slight tarnishing to the copper rims.
