Item Description
ANTIQUE JARDINIERE/PLANT POT ON DECORATIVE STAND
A planter made from chocolatey brown salt glazed stoneware pottery which has been hand modelled with wonderful Faux Bois (imitation wood) details including depictions of bark and knots etc.
The raised pedestal base serves as the saucer to the upper plant pot which has a drainage hole. The base takes the form of realistic tree branches and supports a straight sided cylindrical planter of tree trunk form.
It is probably English in origin but possibly Scottish and probably dates from the late 19th century period, circa 1870s-1890s.
Overall both pots are in good vintage condition, there are signs of wear throughout consistent with age and use including minor nibbles to the extremities and small chips/cracks etc. but no serious structural issues.
Approximate overall measurements: 33 cm high x 30cm wide at the widest part.
