Item Description
ANTIQUE EARTHENWARE POTTERY JUG/PITCHER
A decorative and characterful jug in the form of a frog with his mouth wide open to be used as the spout and stood on a naturalistic base with pretty blue flowers and a ‘faux bois’ handle.
A creamware ground with sponged decoration throughout which really compliments the theme.
Design registration number (Rd: 351550) on the base dates it to 1899-1900 during late Victorian period.
It is in very good vintage condition with only minor wear commensurate with age. I can’t find any major defects. There is some crazing to the glaze present which can be mainly seen on the base.
Approximate measurements: 21cm high x 12cm wide x 9cm deep.
