Item Description
VINTAGE FRENCH BRASS SINK AND TAPS
A highly decorative hand-hammered circular brass sink.
Sculptural art deco style brass taps with porcelain hot and cold plaques in French for ‘Chaud’ and ‘Froid’.
Probably dating from the early-mid 20th century period, circa 1930s-1950s.
It is in good vintage condition with wear throughout commensurate with age. The taps turn off and on freely. The porcelain plaque on the Froid (Cold) tap is cracked.
The previous owner has updated some of the plumbing to accept UK pipes, but presumably could be converted back to European or other countries’ pipework without too much trouble.
Approximate overall measurements: 51cm wide x 50cm deep x 32cm high. The height of the basin without the taps is approximately 24cm.
