Item Description
A mid-18th-century French faience plate from Bordeaux in an elegant camaieu of green, decorated with a figure in historical attire pointing to a butterfly, surrounded by leafy shrubs. The edge is delicately shaped and highlighted by two bands in manganese, the lip carrying an elegant frieze of elongated flowering branches and foliage. Characterful details, from the figure's hat and dress to its interaction with the butterfly, lend liveliness to the plate, set against lush, refined foliage.
Marked underneath, a charming Bordeaux plate, unrestored and in excellent condition.

- Slight wear throughout and minor glaze losses to the edge, commensurate with age. A minor hairline crack to the lip. Otherwise, very good condition.
