Item Description
A pair of 18th-century Dutch Delft vases of classic baluster form, decorated in a camaïeu of blue and white with generous peonies in the Chinoiserie taste, set within a dense scrolling ground and framed by moulded cartouches and large leaves. Elegant sprays of flowers adorn the sides and reverse, while fine foliate friezes articulate the foot and neck.
The decoration is executed with fluid, refined brushwork, achieving compelling detail in the floral passages while broader, bolder strokes highlight the relief elements. Marked LPK to the reverse, most likely for the De Lampetkan factory in Delft. A rare pair of Delft vases with elegant floral decoration, in excellent condition.
