k0618 A Large Victorian Overmantel giltwood mirror of arched form, having original mercury glass with some foxing and desirable sparkle in gilded frame with moulded can finely carved cornice above floral frieze, decorative laurel leaf carving throughout and leaf scrolls to the base. This antique mirror retains its original glass, original gilt with some toughing up over the years and original panelled backboards with four wall bracket, all ready to place at home. The mirror is woodworm free, all decoration is present, no loose elements. This striking piece is crafted from wood and plaster (gesso) and finished in gilt, showcasing the ornate craftsmanship typical of the19th century. The frame is richly embellished with classical motifs making it a standout decorative item ideal for grand interiors. A true statement which would grace any interior. c1850
