K0574 Superb Victorian overmantle giltwood mirror, having original plate with some foxing in moulded and gilded frame with reeded columns, acanthus leaves, floral scrolls, Greek key decoration and egg and dart cornice all with beaded outer edge. This antique mirror retains its original gilt and good mellow patina. Original foxed glass creating a wonderfully atmospheric and authentic antique look that is highly sought after for its character and depth, and original panelled backboards fitted with wall brackets and enclosing newspapers dated 1899. The mirror is solid, sturdy, no woodworm. No missing or loose decoration. This antique mirror would grace any interior.
