Item Description
Charles Dudouyt (attributed) Side Table for L'Abeillee. An elegant solid oak side table attributed to Charles Dudouyt, produced by the atelier L'Abeilee in Pontoise, or Saint Ouen L'aumone, France. Circa 1925. This piece exemplifies Dudouyt's rustic modern aesthetic with turned tapering legs joined by a circular undertier and a subtly shaped top. The table bears a clear stamp "L'Abeillee" to the underside confirming its workshop origin. Finished in its original dark oak patina. Oak. Good condition commensurate with age. Stamped L'Abeille to underside Provenance. Private Collection, France. Circa 1925. Historical Context Charles Dudouyt (1885 - 1946) founded L'Abeille in 1922 in Pontoise, later moving production to Saint Ouen l'Aumone. The workshop produced hand crafted oak furniture blending rustictradition with early modernist design. Furniture bearing the L'Abeillee mark dates between 1922 - 1931. Comparable examples of Dudouyts work for L'Abeillee are documented at the Musee Tavet-Delacour.
