Item Description

Set of 3 hand painted early 20th century folk art fairground panels

Now this is cool fairground folk art in our humble opinion. All three wooden board panels are hand painted in oil paint with colourful and highly quirky graphic illustrations. Our favourite is the red-faced clown holding a blue frog in his hand. There is sometime quite artistic in the style of pop art and art brut to these items and they would likely have been part of a larger collection at some point to decorate a fairground attraction of sorts. The eyes light up with recently added modern day small battery boxes attached to rear, which can be turned on by a switch. The backs have small wooden poles (detached) so they can stand upright freely however we feel these would look great mounted on a wall in situ.

Size: H 33” x W 25” x D 2”
Origin: Unknown
Date: Early 20th Century
Condition: Good

With natural wear and tear due to their age and obvious use. The wooden reverse sections show their age with rusty nails and worn wood. The from paint is firmly in place and a few sections are missing some detail (towards the edges) In overall very presentable condition and considering their use and age in very good (decorative) conditions.

We strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment upon purchase. A direct message usually takes 24 hours to answer.
