Item Description
An unusual and sculptural French champagne bucket by Jean Goardere, handcrafted in pewter during the 1970s and modelled after an oversized champagne cork. The rounded bowl and flared base are trimmed with twisted cord detailing that evokes the wire cage of a bottle, while the hand-hammered surface gives a soft, silvery glow. Signed under the base, it remains in very good vintage condition, the timeworn patina, faint scratches, and shallow dimples adding depth and a pleasing sense of history. On a cocktail trolley orside table, it offers a refined focal point that speaks of celebration and craftsmanship. Use it to chill a bottle, or as a witty cachepot for herbs or flowers.
