Item Description
This a a gorgeous antique French painting that dates from the second half of the 18th century. It is a precious oil painting on a copper plate that was discovered recently in Avignon in the South of France. The painting depicts Madonna and Jesus as a Child. Above the Child is a little white butterfly. This is a lovely treasure of rare beauty and meaning. It is in a gilded frame, measuring about 32.5 x 28.5 x 4 cm or approximately 12.7 x 11.2 x 1.5 inches. Just the painting measures 22 x 18 cm or about 8.6 x 7 inches. The painting is exactly as I discovered it, with some signs of ageing mainly seen in a lovely patina created by the passage of time. For the full condition please refer to the images!
