Item Description
This is an absolutely mesmerising antique Italian treasure that was discovered recently in Naples. It consists of a stunning beveled glass case within brass frames with a blue cushion inside. During the 19th century such glass cases were made as jewellery boxes. Within the glass case is a spellbinding female santo's bust created masterfully from hand painted pottery and its eyes made of glass. The santo wears a pearl necklace. All together this precious treasure has a romantic fairytale quality and timeless beauty that kept her safe for 150 years or even more. It is truly remarkable to find such treasures today in a lovely, slightly timeworn antique condition. The glass case measures about 10.5 x 14.5 x 10 cm or approximately 4.1 x 5.7 x 4 inches. It is exactly as I discovered it. For the full condition please refer to the images!
