Item Description

An unusual mid 19th century antique cast iron statue of a praying child, sourced from the property of the English author known as John le Carré. Beautifully cast, it is a charming ornament for a garden or sculpture for an interior.

Made in several sections then leaded together, this statue depicts a child with locks of curling hair kneeling on a cushion with hands together and raised as if praying. The cast is further elevated by a weathered stone base. Over 150 years old, the entire piece has an attractive timeworn look, telling the story of its age and history.
