Miniature paintings of three siblings, painted in watercolour on marble by Thomas Heathfield Carrick (1802–1874).
Within their original boxed gilt gesso frames.

Thomas Heathfield Carrick was born near Carlisle in 1802, the son of a glass and china merchant. By 1830 he was known to be producing his portrait miniatures on prepared marble winning him the Silver Isis Medal from the Society of Arts in 1838 and from Prince Albert in 1854. Carrick was a very successful artist. Between 1841 and 1866, he exhibited 140 works at the Royal Academy. He was a friend of Charles Dickens. Amongst his more distinguished sitters were Charles Kean, William Wordsworth, Thomas Carlyle, Longfellow. Sir Robert Peel, Thomas Miles Richardson and leading art dealer F. Gambart. He died in Newcastle in 1875.
