Item Description

Vue d'Optique of Chester Terrace in Regent's Park. The original plans for this terrace, along with that of Cornwall and York were done by John Nash, but they were greatly altered by Decimus Burton, being built by his father in 1825. Nash was so opposed to the new design that he sought the destruction of the entire terrace, fortunately without success. It is now a grade 1 listed building in London's Borough of Camden.
This print presumably made to celebrate the building at the time of its completion, clearly popular with visitors to the park.
This print with original hand colouring;  presented within a good copy of a period print frame.
