Rare Pair Clam Shell Task Lamps

HAES ANTIQUES
A good pair of antique task / desk / work lamps with flexible upper brass necks attached to square steel stems supported on circular moulded iron bases, paired with similar period large nickel plated brass scalloped edged clam shell shades.Cast brass fittings. English early 20th century.
The original switched lampholders, and shades, attach to the flexible neck with an adjustable joint.
In excellent condition; every part has been cleaned and polished whilst retaining the original black paint. Clear waxed for protection.
Rewired with 3 meters (exposed) black fabric flex and new hard plastic plugs.
Dimensions in inches/cms;
35.5"/90cm max height (with neck and shade vertical).
18"/46cm height to top of square stem.
Regular working height approx 22-26".
Shades are 7"/18cm x 5.25"/13.5cm.

Edward Haes has been dealing in architectural elements and antiques for the past 20 years, initially sourcing most of his stock from disused public buildings and demolition sites.  Some of his architectural pieces can be found on The Hoarde.

He enjoyed the social history of these places and wishes all his later purchases could have the same perfect provenance.

He continues to buy a diverse range of antiques, with a speciality in lighting, mainly from the UK and sells to dealers, commercial and private clients. He is happy to “tune in” to customers projects and help advise on selecting  the correct pieces.
