Victorian Bullseye Glazed Lantern

A late 19th century / Victorian iron lantern glazed with four pairs of red, yellow, green and blue glass bullseyes and punched decoration.
A beautifully made piece of tinsmithery. Please note the wirework hanging loop and latch handle.
In excellent condition in original or old paint fully cleaned and rubbed down inside and out. All brass finials and bun feet present and firmly fixed.
There is one crack in a clear corner glass panel.
The lantern was discreetly converted to electric many years ago and has now been rewired similarly with a new bronzed brass cord-gripped lampholder and 1.5meter of bergundy fabric flex. It could be returned to its original state easily.
It would work well as a table or hanging lantern. Supplied with an S hook attached to the hanging loop.

Edward Haes has been dealing in architectural elements and antiques for the past 20 years, initially sourcing most of his stock from disused public buildings and demolition sites.  Some of his architectural pieces can be found on The Hoarde.

He enjoyed the social history of these places and wishes all his later purchases could have the same perfect provenance.

He continues to buy a diverse range of antiques, with a speciality in lighting, mainly from the UK and sells to dealers, commercial and private clients. He is happy to “tune in” to customers projects and help advise on selecting  the correct pieces.
