Item Description
Late 19th Century French study of a Classical marble bust, possibly Agrippa or Caligula. Young artists studying in Paris were encouraged to visit the museums to paint the exhibits and statuary was often a popular chose. This study is painted with limited colour on a 'cardboard' which was supplied by the art supply shops for this very purpose. An historically interesting and evocative artwork. Circa 1890
