Item Description
Every great household has had one - a presence in the kitchen or the hall that held everything together without fuss. This is ours. She has stood in rooms that no longer exist, watched households wake and sleep, and kept their secrets behind her doors.
An 18th Century Georgian Welsh Oak Country Press in warm, finely grained solid oak, with the kind of rich patina that can only be earned across centuries. Her arched panelled doors open to a deep recess. Below, five fielded panels and three short drawers rest behind brass pulls and her cornice finishes her beautifully. She carries the marks of her years without apology. Useful and beautiful in equal measure.
We see this piece being used proudly in a kitchen or dining room, stacked with folded linens. Big enough to store folding chairs and seat cushions. But would be just as at home in a hallway, filled with coats and shoes, quietly stealing the show without asking for attention.
Not perfect. Better than that.
