Item Description
Good sized French Louis XV style marble top parquetry commode or chest of drawers c.1930. Beautifully figured 1¼" tick marble top with a serpentine shaped and moulded edge. Over a chest of two large drawers with bombe shaped front and sides featuring superb parquetry work veneers laid to create a striking geometric pattern within a crossbanded surround. Large and well cast pierced brass handles and escutcheon plates to the drawer fronts, pierced brass mounts to the shoulders and at the centre of the apron to the bottom edge of the lower drawer front. Shaped legs with further brass mounts to the front feet. Oak drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
