Pair of original Art Deco brass wall lights.
English 1930’s
Part of a larger collection of Art Deco light fittings all purchased from an original 1930’s Art Deco house.
An impressive pair of cast brass wall lights, combining strong architectural detailing with an elegant elongated form. Each light features a substantial polished brass backplate with stepped geometric decoration, finished with a spherical finial to the top and decorative detailing below.
The fittings are complete with their distinctive long tubular opaline white bulbs, held neatly against the brass backplates by shaped retaining bands. The contrast between the warm cast brass and softly diffused white glass gives these wall lights a particularly striking appearance, with influences of Art Deco, Neoclassical and early 20th-century architectural lighting.
Their tall, slender proportions make them ideal for positioning either side of a fireplace, mirror, doorway or artwork, while their sculptural quality allows them to work equally well in both period and contemporary interiors.
Matching double wall sconce also available.
