Rare Pair of Signed Maison Charles Floor Lamps
An exceptionally rare pair of vintage floor lamps by the renowned French design house Maison Charles, each signed to the base. To our knowledge, this is the only pair currently available for sale worldwide.
These elegant lamps feature tall bronzed columns, decorative polished brass scrollwork and sculptural finials, complemented by their original curved dark metal shades. Their dramatic proportions and beautifully contrasting finishes make them outstanding statement pieces, whether displayed together or positioned either side of a sofa, console or doorway.
When illuminated, the shades direct the light backwards, creating a soft, warm and atmospheric glow.
Both lamps are in very good vintage condition, with age-related wear and patination consistent with their age. There are some very slight indentations to the metal shades; however, these are barely noticeable when displayed and do not detract from their overall appearance. Please refer to the close-up photographs.
Both lamps have been professionally rewired with black fabric-covered flex and fitted with convenient inline floor switches.
