Item Description
A highly desirable pair of late 19th-century Victorian cast iron conservatory table bases.
This pair features a clear Victorian Design Registration Diamond (kite mark) cast into the upper brackets, precisely dating the registration of this elegant design to the mid-to-late 19th Century. The diamond-shaped kite mark was issued by the British government's Patent Office between 1842 and 1883. It was used by manufacturers to legally protect their design pattern for up to 3 years.
Complete with original mounting holes along the top flanges, they are ready to support a bespoke marble, slate, or reclaimed timber top.
Condition: Structurally sound, incredibly solid, and heavy. No cracks or damage to the ironwork. The surfaces exhibit oxidation, rust, and remnants of old paint.
