Item Description
Circa 1900. A stylish pine-framed Orkney chair, probably by ‘David Kirkness of Kirkwall, Orkney’, made with oat straw back tied with marram grass, drop-in insert seat also in marram grass, the shaped arms supported on simple uprights braced to the side, resting on four square legs which are slightly splayed at the back, all braced by conforming stretchers.
