Stemmed Opal Lights By Troughton & Young

A rare pair of matt opal / white glass mid century hand blown shades with steel stems / fittings by Troughton & Young. Excellent condition.English, 1950s.

The shades cleaned, the original black painted fittings rubbed up, polished and waxed.
The ceiling mounted stems have their original ceiling plates with ball and socket joints (some give if the light is knocked) and their gripper assemblies (fits within the neck of the shades). They have new brass ES lampholders and have been rewired. The height of the ES lampholders is easily adjustable to position any bulb optimally within the shades. Vintage black roundhead slotted screws are supplied for fixing the ceiling plates.
Please note images show the shades unlit and lit (in both warm -traditional - bulb colour and with a slightly cooler / neutral bulb. The neutral bulb looks a little cooler in the photos than with naked eye. But colour on screens may vary a little depending on device and perception. Bulbs are available from warm to cool to suit tastes / needs).
