This is an antique county map of Monmouthshire. An English, atlas reproduction of the Thomas Moule original, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Late Victorian reproduction of the Moule original, showing the Welsh county
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
Presented behind clear, bright glass with a wide cream card border
Later giltwood frame displays golden hues, and dressed with hanging wire to the reverse
Excellent Thomas Moule (1784 - 1851) cartography, displaying his decorative hallmarks
Gives superb detail to Monmouthshire, bordering England and the Severn in South East Wales
Accentuated with Gothic border motif and colourful heraldic emblems
Tastefully hand coloured borders and decor, in a delightful palette of rich hues
Three excellent vignettes show Tintern Abbey, Chepstow Castle and Monmouth Town Hall
Charming title with a pink sash, a deer in repose and a collared swan
Reference is given to the Hundreds, an administrative boundary in use until the late 19th century
