Item Description
A superb brass étagère of exceptional quality. Italian. Circa 1970.
Finished in a bronzed patina and accented with polished square brass collars. The brass frame incorporates a pair of cast brass swan heads to either side, their elegant forms continuing into the vertical supports and extending to the base.
Retaining the four original 10mm thick smoked glass shelves with bevelled edges. These have no damage and only show some light scratch marks in places consistent with use.
Of substantial weight, this is a fine example of luxury 1970s design. The open frame construction could also lend itself perfectly to use as a room divider, the sculptural swan head details being repeated to both sides.
In very good original condition, the solid brass square section frame retains its original lacquered finish, with light wear and surface marks commensurate with age. The base of the étagère shows a few more prominent marks, as photographed.
Please note, the etagere is on one piece, the glass shelves are removable.
