Item Description
Late 18th century French margin mirror with narrow, carved and gilded "baguette de berain" wooden outer frame with a delicate cross-hatched design decorated with curling stems, little flowers and leaves. The inner frame has a carved row of beading and fanned leaves either side of a raised band and the two frames are linked with a double row of beading between the frames and a glass leaf at each corner. There is age in the original mercury glass sections and in the central mercury glass mirror plate but the mirror still gives a good reflection and can be hung portrait or landscape.
