Item Description
Late 19th/early 20th century French-made mirror in the Japanese style with a narrow cross-over frame. The frame has a gold leaf base, decorated with a finely drawn ink repeating design of a small leaf surrounded by curling stems. Where the frame crosses over, a bevelled black glass square sits like a jewel at each corner and the outer sides of the frame are lacquered. The original mirror plate has a little light age but gives an excellent reflection. This unusual and very attractive little mirror was bought at auction in Versailles.
