Item Description
19th century French oval mirror, circa 1840, with narrow, ourcurving frame decorated with a row of beading around the sight edge (edge closest to the glass). Where this mirror has been dusted for almost 200 years, the gold leaf has thinned revealing the burnished terracotta bole beneath, giving the frame a warm glow. The original mercury glass is in very good condition, with just a little light age, and gives a good reflection.
