Item Description
Mid-19th century French gilt margin mirror with palm leaf outer frame and beaded inner frame linked at each corner with a curled and pierced design of acanthus leaves either side of a cameo decorated with a queen's head, possibly Marie-Amélie de Bourbon-Siciles, wife of Louis Philippe I. A magnificent high floral and foliate cartouche with a central decoration of flowers and leaves held within a circlet tops this stunning mirror. The original mercury glass has a little, very light, age and the central mirror is bevelled, sparkles beautifully when it catches the light and gives an excellent reflection.
