Item Description
Very large 19th century French mirror, circa 1880, with a narrow gilt ropetwist style frame. Where this mirror has been dusted for more than 100 years, the gilding on the raised edges of the frame has thinned a little, revealing the warm terracotta bole beneath and this defines the ropetwist design and gives the frame a very attractive patina. The original mirror plate is in very good condition with just a hint of age and this stunning mirror can be hung portrait, as photographed, or landscape.
