Item Description
1960’s Kurt Ostervig model 61 armchair for Rolschau Mobler for upholstery.
Manufactured in Denmark by Rolschau Mobler and designed by Kurt Ostervig in the early 1960’s. The armchair has solid teak legs. This high back version has good proportions and is very comfortable. Nice, slightly unusual shaped arm caps and detail along the front edges is a good indication of the model 61 design by Kurt Ostervig.
There is another Danish armchair that some people are saying is the Model 61 but it has a number of differences to the one shown in the original advert we’ve shown. The main feature of this Model is the tapering teak square legs rather than the standard shaped circular legs you’ll see on many Danish chairs by lesser known makers and designers.
Condition
Model 61 high backed armchair to be fully restored and upholstered.
The price includes the upholstery work to re cover and bring the chair up to fire regulations. This will include a new seat cushion and re webbing of the base with original rubberized pirelli webbing.
The top fabric will be the customers own choice. It is quite a large armchair and will need approximately 6 meters of standard width upholstery fabric. This is an extra cost depending on the type chosen. We can help with the selection of fabric and provide fabric samples direct.
