This smart Danish armchair has solid teak arms and legs with a beech back bar and support bar. Other versions we’ve found online are all beech, but are wrongly described as teak ! Teak is a different colour and has a stronger grain than beech, but some people don’t seem to be able to tell the difference though it is obvious when you see the 2 together. Here there is a lovely contrast between the 2 woods which works really well with our choice of a copper wool fabric for the newly made cushions. The grain of the teak arms is really nice.

The design of this beautiful chair must date to circa 1956 as adjacent numbers to 181 all date to that year. The FD label dates this particular chair to the late 1950’s. Model 181 comes in 2 versions, the other which is probably later is all teak and has teak vertical bars to the back rather than the springs.

We bought this chair from the family of the original owners along with a Randers teak dining table and some Moller dining chairs which will be going on the site soon.

The original foam cushions have been replaced with new ones which meet current UK Fire regulations and our in-house upholsterer has made new zipped covers which can easily be replaced if required at a later date or to match your decor.

Condition
The teak and beech frame has been cleaned and oiled and is looking great with no obvious marks or damage. The springs are original and are in really nice condition. The cushions are new to current UK standards. As with all vintage furniture you must expect to see some minor signs of wear if you look very closely.
