Pair of France and Son Boomerang chairs by Hvidt and Molgaard designed 1954

It’s amazing to think that such a modern looking design is almost 70 years old! The iconic Danish chair was designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Molgaard Nielsen who together came up with many highly sought after designs for France and Daverkosen ( later France and Son ). These lovely chairs date to the early to mid 1960’s. They seem often to have been sold in this combination of 1 with arms and 1 without at the time and we are looking to sell them together.

Condition
The teak frames have been cleaned and oiled and are looking great. The brass finish to the metal legs is original and untouched. Some of the Exerspring loops have been replaced some are in good vintage condition and others have some cracking to the outer surface. All are useable. Danish Homestores in Nottingham can supply replacement if you’d prefer to have them all replaced. The upholstery was probably replaced about 20 years ago by the previous owners. It’s not a difficult job to have them redone in your choice of colour or fabric and our in-house upholsterer can give a quote if required.
