Greaves & Thomas Villager daybed sofa
The frame is solid afrormosia with stained beech turned stick back and arm supports. You usually see the 3 seater version either as a sofa bed or just as plain sofa. The range included armchairs and also an armless version. We have a 3 seater sofa and sofa bed at time of listing waiting to be re-upholstered as well as a lovey pair of side chairs without arms which we’ve re-done.
The concept was to have a small 2 seat sofa which can be turned into a daybed or even used as a single bed occasionally. The right arm has 3 different positions. Ideal for a small apartment as it can be a guest bed if needed. See the photos from an original 1966 catalogue we have.
Our upholsterer has made new foam seat cushion and scatter cushions in a lovely soft turquoise colour wool.
163.5cms wide as a sofa, height and depth 76cms
Condition
The frame is in fair clean vintage condition with some marks and scratches in the polish. The upholstery has been newly done in a wool fabric, and will meet current UK fire regulations for domestic use.
