Hans Hamngren lithograph from 1967 No 18 of 35
The title translates as ” With God on our side ” ! This beautiful powerful lithograph has a typical 1960’s political anti-war statement. As you’ll see it’s signed and dated 1967 in pencil. The more you look at this work the more you’ll discover and it’s up to the viewer to decide how to take the military images as well as the flag ( unknown ? ).
Hans Hamngren ( 1934-2017 ) was a talented and successful Swedish artist with a number of solo exhibitions in Sweden and abroad. He studied at the Swedish Konsfack from 1952-56 and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm from 1962-67. We have one other of his lithographs also being listed as well as another by Erland Melanton who taught at both those prestigious institutions when he was a student.

In lovely condition , mounted and framed for original owner . If you look closely the lithograph is a little askew in it’s mount .
