Stylish set of 6 Mid Victorian mahogany dining chairs

Not everybody wants everything to match and we’re fans of the eclectic look when it comes to design as if done well it can look fantastic. We’ve taken a really nice quality set of Victorian dining chairs from around the 1850’s or 1860’s had them cleaned and re-polished and then re-upholstered them in a lovely vintage velvet in a burnt gold colour. The velvet has an antique finish with a grain running through it and a slight distressed look which suits the Victorian style of the dining chairs.

The rich colour of the mahogany goes really well with the on trend gold velvet. 2 of the photographs show them round a contemporary glass table we had which we think looked really good.

Condition
The chairs have all been fully restored and re-glue so there are no loose joints. The wood has then been cleaned and re-polished, but after some 150 years there are some knocks to the frames if you look extremely closely. It takes a lot of work to re-polish and re-upholster pieces like this properly and we’ve not cut any corners to save time or money. We’ve seen plenty of Victorian mahogany dining chairs for sale, but these had that something extra special about them so we decided to invest in them.
